One of the primary goals of the Fellowship of Christian Poets is to encourage Christian Fellowship among Poets from all Christian Denominations. The best way is to meet in an Inter-denominational setting where Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, and many other Christian brethren can mingle, share common experiences, and praise the Lord together.

However, local chapters are not limited to an Inter-denominational setting only. If you are in a church that has poets, you can start right there. Think of the ministry you could have among your own church fellowship. Here are some ideas to ponder:

1. Provide Poster Poems for Sunday school rooms.
2. Provide Poems for Bulletins & Newsletters.
3. Offer creative writing of poetry for the Youth.
4. Provide CD Anthologies as a fund-raiser for your church..
5. Introduce your pastor to our Library of Christian Poetry for Sermon tie-ins.
6. Design Poetic Tracts for Visitation and Evangelism.
7. Collaborate on Poetic Drams and Monologues.

I am sure you can add to the above list of Ministry Ideas. The point is, you can become a leader in your own church or Inter-denominational community. It doesn't require a degree in Poetry. It is not "Rocket Science". It only needs a few hours a week, a dedication to ministry, and a desire to make it happen.
