Hello again, dear readers
Did you hear and feel that gentle, but increasing rush of wind? Well, we know that this year of 1999 is half-over already and what else may so quickly come rushing in upon us is our own mortality? Are we ready?
II Timothy 4:2, which bears reading in its entirity tells us to "---be instant in season, out of season-"
We hope, pray, and trust that this Fellowship of Christian Poets site ministers to your needs and those with whom you are in contact, as in Timothy, with whatever is needed, be it :"---preaching, reproof, rebuke, or exhortation-". And that the Sites to which we direct your attention in this Review be a blessing to you!
Yes, here we're arriving at July already and the celebration of Independence Day. "God Bless America"---we say and sing. Have you ever wondered "Did God really bless us---intend us for His purposes---as a nation?"
Peter Marshall (Jr.) and co-author David Manuel, Jr. explored this topic in their inspiring and illuminating book "The Light and The Glory" (L&G), © 1977, Fleming H. Revell Company, from which the following quotations and vignettes are taken.
What led Christopher ("Christ-bearer") Columbus to his discovery? In his private journal he wrote: " ---the inspiration was from the Holy Spirit---- I did not use intelligence, mathematics or maps (for my voyage)--- it is simply the fulfillment of what Isaiah had prophesied---"(L&G)
Accidental discovery? Nay, not so.
Has God's Hand of protection been upon America with more miracles?
Visualize this: a hard winter in the wilderness is over and 50% of the "Mayflower" Pilgrims have died. Spring planting time approaches but the Pilgrims don't know how to farm this land ; then out of the woods steps an imposing figure and says, in a Booming voice, in English "Welcome!" It is the Algonguin Chief Somoset who then Brought the colonists Squanto, former English captive. It was Squanto who taught the Colonists to fish and plant corn. (L&G)
Does God truly "---bless them that bless thee (Israel)---" (Genesis 12:3) Did God "discover" and bless America so that this prophecy could be fulfilled? Haym Salomon was a Jewish-Polish refugee freedom fighter who had fought along with Pulaski in Poland and was imprisioned and tortured by the British as an (American) Revolutianery spy. In Philadelphia he supplied material and funds to the Colonial Army. A devout Jew he appealed to his congregation on Yom Kippur for funds to rescue Washington's ragged army. Diaries of our Revolutionary War leaders testify "---when you need money, go to Haym Solomon---" . And, as this writer understands---the loans were never repaid. Janice calls her Site "From Darkness to Light" and if you'll read her Testimony, you'll understand and praise God for it.
Her Site contains original Christian Poetry; many of her poems are what I like, i.e. visceral and all glorify God; her graphics are crisp, with impact-yet not distracting and as a sailor I particularly liked her opening page.

I want my words to touch your inner being, I want your precious spirit's eyes to be seeing, I want the world to know that you are mine, And to put a tingle down your spine!!
