Finding Stability
 In An Unstable World

Change Is Inevitable

Our world is rapidly changing and not for the better, at least not in the near future. Fear dominates the minds of the populace as jobs become unstable due to an economy that is constantly being shaken by increasing fuel prices and increasing transportation cost that cause even the basic foods to go up in price. Now Dow Chemical just announced that it’s increasing the cost of thousands of household products that they manufacture by 25%. If that’s not enough, there are nations, more than one, that are bent on killing the general population of America. Terrorism is a real threat to our way of life. Then there are floods, fires, crime and on and on. Even Christianity in America has fallen to an the same level as all the other religions that plague humanity. Instability, Fear, Worry and Heart Ache seems to fill our newspapers and evening news.

Making Sense of It All

I am right in the middle of it all, like you, trying to make sense of life and struggling to keep employed when thousands are loosing their livelihood. I questioned the Lord, saying, Lord, I know the last days are soon to come and may even be upon us now but how do we make sense of it all and keep any sort of peace in our hearts? Here’s what He said…An Upside Down World

“Your world is upside down. It is not the world that I originally designed. Mine was fashioned in righteousness. Instead, you have evil, distortion, confusion, and a full range of evil attributes that are an ever-growing portrait of the anti-Christ who will soon appear. Remember, I have promised a new heaven and a new earth where-in dwelleth righteousness. This world, with all its evil, will suddenly pass away. I will send a consuming fire upon it.”  Our Joy & Our Cross

Our world is upside down, yet we are asked to walk right side up in it but not be of it and we are asked to release the image of God, redeeming the times through a display of Love, Peace, Longsuffering and all the other fruit of God’s Holy Spirit. This is our joy and yet also our cross for hate, jealousy, pride and all the deeds of the flesh must be put to death so the Love of God can be manifested.

We Have A Stable God

So…here’s a thought that came to me when I was troubled over an unstable economy and the fear of what the future might bring. I heard the Spirit of the Lord say, John! You may live in an unstable world but you do not have an unstable God. “Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear (Reverence) Him, upon them that hope in His mercy; to deliver their souls from death and to keep them alive in famine.”  It’s All About Perspective

This month we celebrate the 4th of July, freedom from bondage as a nation and deliverance from oppressors. However, if we are not walking in Faith, knowing that our God is stable, even though the world around us is not, we are still in bondage, trapped in a place of torment, fear and confusion.

Our God Is Greater

I am sure you have heard this before, “God is greater.” Well it is true, but…for Him to exercise His greatness in our lives, we MUST believe in Him, trust in Him, hold on to what He says and stand fast in His Word. It’s all about perspective.

A Decision Is Required

Once we decide that God is greater and all things will work together for good to those who love God and are called unto His purposes, (That is us), we find peace, stability and begin to see order emerge out of the confusion of life. It’s as simple as this…  What To Do?

Get right with the Lord, read His Word, believe it, trust in Him to accomplish it and hold on to it with all that you have. If you slip, get up and try again until it is a part of your very existence.

Until next time
