About the Author: Irina Kocsis

I was born in Russia on October 11, 1980. My family immigrated to the United States in December of 1988. I was raised in a Christian home with a loving older sister and three wonderful younger brothers. My loving parents have devoted a lot of time and effort to place God into our lives and I’ve grown to love Him deeply.

On July 3, 1999, I married Daniel Jeremy Kocsis, who also loves Jesus and is a wonderful husband. On January 13, 2003 God blessed us with a beautiful son, who we named Daniel Peter.

My life’s main goal is a personal relationship with Jesus and to burn with His love for others. I have learned that the best way to grow in this is devoting time to prayer and reading His word (even Jesus spent a lot of His time on earth praying to His father). I’ve realized that these two things are the foundation to going out and doing God’s work, and the stronger the foundation, the stronger the results.

Tough the narrow path leading to Him isn’t easy, His love and closeness (and the gift of eternal life after this short one) are worth every step of the way. The hardest thing for me has often been praying for and trying to love my enemies and those who spread false rumors about me and my loved ones, causing even friends to turn away (though this in turn has caused me to close my ears on a lot of negative information about others who I don’t personally know to be evil). God, however, has always remained a true and faithful friend.

One of the things I love most in life is seeing someone give their life to Jesus. It is so beautiful to see someone burning with love for Him and rejoicing in Him!

Some of my most painful experiences have been seeing someone fall away from Christ. This has taught me to pray for those I know that have repented and be a support to them in ways I can. Since early teens, God has also put a burden on my heart to pray for lost souls that I meet though out my life. Because a big part of my life involves focusing on the lost and those starting their journey for Christ, a lot of my poems are about a life without Him and about salvation.
